In brief:

A useful resource for planning short activities and oral and mental starters for most areas of the curriculum.

"Ideal for a starter or a plenary"

This has, as the title suggests, 100 activities that cover most of the key areas of the curriculum. 1- 48 are short ideas, ideal for a starter or a plenary. The remainder are longer activities that are investigation based.

Although the majority of them are based on number there are examples for other areas of the maths curriculum too.

Each activity is described, with the required resources listed, alongside suggested group sizes and, when appropriate, ideas to differentiate.

I have used some of the activities as whole class teaching points, although I have found it more useful as a source of â€œearly finishersâ€ cards. Children can select them and know what they need to do and what resources they will have to collect.

You probably will have seen some ideas before, or some very similar, but there were many that were new to me and the children. All of them are adaptable and useful for both Key Stages.
